Long, soft-looking, pale — a maggot is what trout watch for in low water, and a wooden one fools them when the real ones are scarce. Carved from a single piece of linden, painted cream-and-cinnamon, sealed glass-smooth. Heavy enough to cast at distance; finished light enough to drop without a splash.
